Owls
Owls are nocturnal raptors. The largest Owl in Israel is the Eagle Owl (last two pictures) and the smallest is the Scops Owl (pictures above the Eagle Owl). They are perfectly equipped for night hunting. Their large eyes can see very well in darkness, their 2 ears are at different height so they can locate the source of a noise not only horizontally but also vertically. (Note, the two crests on the top of the head are not the ears) . On top of that they have special feathers that enable them to fly quietly and approach their prey in the quiet of the night without being noticed.
